Baysail is dedicated to fostering environmental stewardship of the Saginaw Bay Watershed and the Great Lakes ecosystem, while providing transformative personal development opportunities through shipboard and land-based education.
STEM Programs
Our programs, from hands-on STEM learning in Science Under Sail to immersive sail training in Windward Bound, cultivate a deep connection to the Great Lakes. We aim to build leaders and environmental advocates with experiential science and traditional sail training aboard the Schooner Appledore IV.
Public Sails
Public sails, including our scenic sunset cruises and educational "Great Lakes 101" daysails, serve as vital gateways to our mission.
While offering memorable experiences and showcasing the beauty of the region, these sails also introduce passengers to the ship's history, the importance of environmental preservation, and the interconnectedness of our natural world.
